One year ago, Portland Center Stage launched a $9 million sustainability campaign as we faced a financial crisis. And we’re proud to share that we’ve already raised $7.6 million, 85% of our goal. The first $7 million of this campaign was to ensure strong operations for both the 2024-25 and 2025-26 seasons. The final $2 million is to establish a robust operating reserve, for the first time in Portland Center Stage's history.
As we gear up to launch the 2026-27 season - Portland Center Stage’s 20th anniversary in The Armory building! - we’re thrilled to be creating this critical reserve for the company’s health and vitality. The future is bright!. Any dollar you contribute between now and June 30 goes directly toward ensuring that the next 20 years are equally celebratory.
For over 35 years, Portland Center Stage has belonged to our entire community, and that means you! In that time, the theater has served 4 million patrons , engaged more than 150,000students and teachers through its education programs, served more than 100,000 individuals through free community programs, collaborated with over 1000 local nonprofits and community groups, and provided work for thousands of artists, artisans, and technicians. We’re proud of the work we do and the impact we have on our community.

Eleanor Warner, JAW Teen Playwright - “ My experience with PCS during the JAW festival was incredible! Getting guidance and feedback from artists who work professionally in the theater was so helpful and the entire team there was supportive of me as we worked through the process. It was both extremely educational and fascinating to watch the other plays being put on that weekend take shape and it was an invaluable experience for both the writing and directing processes that go on behind the scenes. I am so thankful that I was able to be a part of it!”
